Senior Band
A little about our philosophy of banding.
There is a notion that when you join a Band you attend all rehearsals and engagements, this is not our philosophy.
You decide the level of commitment you want and attend accordingly. Whatever commitment you're able to give is what we'll expect from you. The band's philosophy is that everyone should enjoy their banding and feel that their efforts are appreciated. Unlike most Brass Bands, TCB does not enter any competitions nor is it a member of any association.
We are a local band meeting the needs of the local community.
The Senior Band fulfils the bulk of our engagements: averaging 30 a year.
The band consists of:
* experienced players who have been in banding for years
* players who have achieved a moderate playing standard who just enjoy playing
* people who have either started to learn later in life or children just beginning to
take their first steps in banding
As a non competitive band we are not restricted to the standard brass band instrumentation of 25 players. We therefore actively encourage new members to join us and play in the position of their choice.
Senior Band rehearses from 7.45 to 9.45 on Friday evenings at the Bandroom on Wellington Rd. Todmorden with the emphasis on concert performances.
